1. Yes, but not right now, I'm busy
2. I can take it. Can you?
3. Never, since I'm always right.
4. Not unless they give it to me first.

Most important for me is to consider the source. Is this person trying to help me for the future or do they have an ax to grind. Would this person take advice from me? Do I care about this persons opinion? Is this person respected? I find myself argumentative, especially when the advice feels like an attack.

Definitely open, and I encourage those around me to point out when I'm not holding myself to the standards I aspire to.

Richie Alan Naggar you are right - if one is 'open' to suggestions, feedback, one can grow!
(And giving it to others...they should be open.)

Yes, I am always open to it and will make time if not available. I don't always handle it well. I don't like to be spoken down to or flat out criticized, so will become defensive if I feel that way. Yes, I do give it to others, but try to do it as constructively as possible without making someone feel bad. I think there are ways you can say things so they don't come out wrong.

It depends, if anyone asks for my feedback, they better to be ready for what i have to say. Most often i dont ask for feedback and i have dont, and its not good, its better if you have nothing good to say to say nothing at all.

1) Yes. 2) In the spirit in which it was given. 3) No, but I may try to clear up a missconception or try to get the critic to elaborate further. 4) From time to time.

Well I remember when I had a coach, this was the toughest part of the whole process. Being coachable or aka being open minded when someone shreads your personal life & business. It can be truly helpful & how it is expressed is VERY important.
Any hint of a 'cut' in the air can start an arguement or resentment. Very tricky stuff.
I'd have to say that I 'put up my dukes' far too often. Other times, I amaze myself lol.

Do you mean in RE, or life in general?
1. Depends on what qualifies the person to provide it. 2. I tend to believe that every encounter is educational if paying attention. But there are a lot of people handing out advice that don't possess a mirror! 4. I might quietly and privately give a piece of advice, if I feel someone really doesn't know AND THEY ASK. One of my mentors posts prolifically on FB, and till recently it was ALL IN CAPS. He would privately lament that he wasn't getting any response to important posts. I told him a. you're too smart for the masses and b. YOU'RE SHOUTING. He never thought of that and changed his posts. Now he gets more attention. LOL
Generally, I prefer to mind my own business unless I am certain I can help. And 3. I rarely argue unless it's over politics. Even then, it's with humor.
We are hopelessly human, I always say. <3

Feedback usually is helpful, depending on the circumstances, and sometimes in how it's delivered. Arguing doesn't get you anywhere

1, I'm open. Just don't get mad if I don't take your advice.
2. I process it. If it is valid or comes from a trusted person, I may use it. If it is from left field or from a untrusted source, I don't give it much weight.
3. I don't argue. I may explain a few points, but they don't always know exactly where I am coming from or where I am going to and my timing.
4. I don't think I give much, but I probably give more than I think I do.
