Listing agents for sure.  "list to last."  Listings take less time, so you can handle more of those, all things being equal.

Listing agents will always be more proliffic.

Signs and exposure mean much more business.

I do both Listing Agent & Buyer's Agent.

I do both very well but I don't count success on the number of listings just the amount of happy clients!

Listing Agents are the top agents here.  Keep in mind that a listing agent gets buyers but a buyer's agent gets less opportunity to list right away.

Impossible to say. The numbers would be skewed by mega-teams that have downstream agents on both sides.

Boy I would have to say buyer agencies.

Here in NY, Buyer Agency is still optional, though becoming the way of the future. Therefore I'd say most the leaders come from Listing.

I like your question. 

Agents that primarily list property generally out perform (in transactions and volume) agents who act primarily as "buyers agents" by a substantial margin. This is because the listing attracts buyer calls and subsequent sub sales as a result of the listing.

A Top Producer should be a combination of transaction Sides and Volume. Although agencies often give awards for both. 

I view a Top Perfoming agent as an INDIVIDUAL who sells more than 35 homes and exceeding 5 Million in production per year. 

Buyers eat a lot of time.

In my area the so called top agents have large teams which they are the face for. So if a seller hires them, it is unlikely they will meet, see or talk to the face of the team. It does not always work out well

Judith Sinnard - well there are several categories for the top producers - and most of them are likely to be Listing Agents, from whatever I have seen and learned in our business.

Every office has their own awards and standards. My compalny stopped advertising these categories 6-7 years ago.

Well, I think of Top Agents as the ones who provide high quality, competent service, and there are some terrific colleagues in both categories.

In our market they are listing agents.

Out here the "top" agents tend to be agents with a big staff and several buyers agents.  All the transactions from their staff roll up to them. 

I don't think the public knows enough about the business to even ask if someone works only one side of the coin.

Anyone can call themselves a top agent.

I prefer to see the records.

I would say if one must be selected, listing agents.

Listing agents by far. The more listings you have, the more buyers you will attract.

The only real "producers" are the farmers who grow crop.
