Oh, boy Praful Thakkar! The name 'Steve Smith' could be any one of thousands with the same name! I totally agree with comments from Diana Dahlberg and Candice A. Donofrio, as you may want to keep him as a Contact, after all!

I would check out more about this Steve Smith ... who his followers are, the type of posts he does, etc., and if he seems like a potential friend/client/ or referral source I would keep him as a friend. However, if after a little vetting I found that he might not be someone I was to show association with, I would delete him.

Steve needs to change his name! Haha!
I'd just quietly delete the incorrect entry. HOWEVER. I have made really great friends unintentionally. And, LinkedIn is so massive and somewhat impersonal, there may not be much harm in just leaving him there. He may be in the market in your area!

I accept all invitations on LI. Why not? The problem with LI, you can not group people any more based on your relationships or location.

Chances are I would look over the profile and see if there is any connection and if not I would remove him.

Praful - I would leave him in my network, as it won't harm anything. Only if he starts bugging me with sales offers, or harassing me with unimportant info would I try and disconnect with them.

Since there is nothing classified on there and it's just for spewing out blogs, I don't do anything.

Good morning Praful. Unless you want the person gone and it is not a bad person, just end up have two with the same name.

That wouldn't happen to me as I only accept invites from people I know and only send them to people I know. If they don't have a picture, I don't reach out to them on LI as often they are not using the platorm and can't tell if I have right person.

Do you know Steve Smith? He was my college roommate. He was an electronics major. I have not heard from him since. Tell him I said Hi.

If it is not the person I intended to connect with I simply drop the connection. It has not happened to me ... I imagine there is a way to disconnect?

Praful Thakkar Generally, I check the people then connect. But, I connected with many good people that I did not know before.

I never connect with 'no photo invitation' or invitation from Someone I don't know or someone recommend by mutual connection

Just fess up, apologize but ask if he needs your professional services. We are all human!

I first check the person out before I agree to connecting. If there were an issue and someone I did NOT want to connect with I would drop the connection. And if they are not sharing information, well then I would wonder
