I'm not a Realtor, but if I were, I'd bet I would have EXPONENTIALLY better luck marketing by driveway shoveling than door knocking.  

How bout picking a farm area, and getting in your workout for the day by shoveling drives and introducing yourself to the home owners?  They'll surely remember you.  I think bad weather or any other potential curve ball is just an opportunity to be creative and do things the competition isn't willing to.

I'd never door knock, but I enjoy shoveling snow, so that's something I would do.

It is sunny and back to 70F in my part of the country( los angeles hood),  so, I'm always ready and available.

This storm is a disaster for the East Coast, and hope no one ventures out to sell a house!    In Denver, we get snow often, and USUALLY buyers do not need to view homes.

 I'm fortunate to be in California.  

If someone comes out in this weather, you know they are serious!

 Good morning Andrzej Niemyjski . I have heard that too. Sadly, the weatherman is incorrect at forecasting in this area 70% of the time. I wish I had a career where I could be that inaccurate and still have a job.

So far, our winter has been quite good with only one or two snow storms.  It has also been quite bit warmer and the expected US storm this weekend does not look like it will be affecting my area.

If people are not looking for a home during major snow storms, ice storms or other weather events, they normally appear when the roads have been cleared or the weather gets a bit warmer.

I have a lot to catch up with my desk work - so if I don't go out to show homes, I'll be able to finish a lot.

Network from home, use social media and get the word out there. Do you know that I have picked up several buyers just by commenting on different posts and saying something like " Don't forget I'm here if you want to buy this home!" or "I can help you sell your home if you are making the renovations to sell it!" Just use your imagination and say it nicely. YOU can sell a home even with terrible weather. 

Not in here. In Los Angeles we have no snow and almost no rain, but terrible traffic. 

Reschedule some, bring a shovel for others.

Most of the agents will be staying home until its reasonably safe to get around on the street.

It is a great opportunity to blog, study market report and follow up with prospective future clients (if there is still a dial tone).

Come rain or sleet or snow...I must show. 

Well not really. But I have had out of town buyers that I will do my best to accommodate even if the weather is bad. 

Do extra blog posts with lots of pics.  Just because buyers aren't out doesn't mean they aren't surfing for a house online in the comfort of the pajamas.

When I have really bad weather I work on future business.

I will be working on next weeks marketing prep on Saturday.

It will  be good time to catch people on the phone at home as well.  They most likely not be out runnning errands.  We are expecting a GOOD size snowstorm here in Maryand.

Looking at the storm maps I am on the line between 2 zones.  One they are saying 1 to 2 ft, the other 2 to 3 ft.  Maybe I will be showing property by Wednesday.

When the weather is too cold, snow, pouring rain or clients decide to reschedule I work on social media, returning calls, organizing or just enjoy a roaring fire and movie.  Today is cold and wet I had to attend a class.. BRRR.....

You don't sell houses until the sidewalks are clear and parking available.

Until then you start picking projects from the pending board.

If a Buyer wants to see a property in inclement weather, then I would show them.  They probably are quite interested, if they want to risk ice and snow to see it!

I can't get out and show in treacherous weather and most sellers don't want people coming through with snow and mud on their shoes, so it works out.

Never a problem in our Florida, or California Markets!

Unless the buyers really want to go out (and I remember them occasionally wanting to do that when it was snowing (but not a big storm) when I lived in the Boston area), you work on other things, or take some personal time (and shovel your drive!). Better to be safe, for all, and stay home

I don't. I do something else until the weather clears.

When the weather is bad you should concentrate on other activities such as farming.

It's a good time to work on your marketing and other paperwork.

appointments are always canceled during a snow storm....it's dangerous driving....

Most agent here are scrambling to get their showing done today and tomorrow before the blizzard strikes. Then it will be cabin fever time before the big dig out. Send us some sunshine!

Here it would be clear the driveway, vehicle and away we go! But we have the equipment to move it out of the way and generally only one or two days we stay home!
