Our state regulates it all. I have been seeing these types of questions from re students for years on other forums. I would rather see a question from an interested student than some of the empty questions posted for points by some experienced agents.

Yep and yep.
However, having students post question here on AR is not a bad idea.
We sometimes forget how very, very little they know. Now, just think of their options....Getting guidance from the DARK SIDE.
It is a shame that every three weeks the exact same question appear from a new set of students. The most recent batch, (i.e. KELLY) has presented herself and the school admirably).
Maybe rather than showing the most skeptic and barnacled side of our personalities, we actually demonstrate the 'teachers heart."
Bob, THE MAN, Stewart should encourage the instructor to interact and perhaps present the 'TEACHER' award at the conclusion of each class cycle.

In Texas the real estate commission must approve all text and all instructors; however one does not need to be licensed; however they must be able to prove competency in the course they apply to teach. For example an attorney could teach contract and not be a licensed real estate agent.

In my province, there is only one provider of real estate education for those who are in the process of obtaining a licence and in the first two years of being licensed. The regulator itself provides the mandatory online continuing education after the first two years.

In Oklahoma the answer is yes as well as teachers who have to either be a part of a school or form their own.

In Wisconsin, the only training available is through the state realtors association. In Minnesota, the school has to be approved and they are subject to inspections by the state.

Mary Yonkers Yes, schools and instructors must be licensed. The state also approves the text and class syllabus. In fact is is pretty hard and a lengthy process to get a class approved for CE.

yes state approved. I'm wondering if the Utah person is also a licensed broker. We have one of those here in La Jolla who does classes and then recruits the agents.

The schools have to be approved and the instructors also have to be approved and licensed brokers. Yes the class syllabus has to be approved also. This is for TN.
I have also taught prelicense for 25 years and some of those questions have no purpose for a prelicense course. They are there to learn the text and pass the test. The questions about all the fraud and misrepresentation at open houses will never be on a test or rarely come up in real life.

Utah has 2.3K ? licencees for teaching. A few online schools send their students to bug us. The teachers get free advertising AR (juice) having them signing up (250 pt+10%).
In our area, the regional coach did the same, he has not posted 1 blog after he attained 500K... He had over 1,000 agents signed up over the years.
