Michael! Real cold in Charlotte is 48 degrees! I couldn't believe it when we moved here that people thought real cold was in the high 40's. Seriously, we do have days that hover around 40 degrees but I don't see business slow down because of it.

Most of the time it gets much busier, many of our projects require frozen soil and water.

Real cold?

Real buyers buy.

Real sellers sell.  

The real estate business slows in our area when there is snow and ice that restricts driving, parking and walking.

Not an issue here in Florida!

Ours has been heating up ...less time for soup making..darn !

Not really, we have had more snow than normal year, and has not melted.   We still have low inventory and lots of buyers looking for a home. 

Michael - Our business does have its seasons, but I don't think it has as much to do with the weather as other reasons. It has been colder this year than usual, but business is up.

Good morning Michael. Not necessarily the cold, unless it is bitter cold, but when there is a lot of snow, it has a major effect.

Showings may slow down, but the serious buyers are still active.

Not really, if they are really looking they will be out.

I think the amount of snow has more to do with a slowdown than the cold temps. 

Usually it does.  Especially when it's really cool, like windchill advisory cold.  Sellers don't like to leave their houses either.

"real cold" is relative.  Our real cold out here is 50.  That's shorts and T-Shirt weather for Indiana!  I don't think anything will stop serious shopppers and our "cold" weather just means you bundle up first.

No, In San Jose California real cold may feel close to freezing but it does not slow business down at all ... neither does the rain.

Weather doesn't seem to be a big deal in our area.

It's suppose to be cold in NY so no unless there is a snow day.

Not at all- for me it is the best time to look since many people won't!

When it is really cold is still fine for my investment business.

Not when the weather turns really cold, but if its mixed with sleet or snow it does slow down by 75%. However, you always have a few people since they didnt go to work, decide inclement winter weather is the optimum time to look for homes. 

If we had an average winter, business would slow in wnter however this is not average. With it being warm i had teh busiest December ever and January has stayed just as busy so far. Last year with nearly 10 feet of snow in 2 months, we sat on our hands until spring when it exploded. 

We only have a few days of cold weather so no not really.

No..busy most all the time. Serious buyers and with a 134 moving a day to Austin we have serious buyers!

Its been busier in December and so far this month for me. Then again we just hit the lowest temps today which was 8 degrees when I went to the gym this morning.

It did last year when we had a record breaking frigid FEB .

Yes, for sure...and then it doesn't get busy again until the snow melts.  People don't want snow/dirt/mud tracked into their home.  I have more success w/ home buyers & those w/ floods/frozen pipes this time of year.

I am working with a number of buyers. It hasn't seemed to slow down this year. Serious buyers and sellers should not let the cold weather slow them down.
