if and when I don't know the answer, I'll not "wing it".... I'll say I don't know but I'll find out and get back with the answer....

When I need to know something, I will try to find the correct or best answer.

Jack Lewitz I have received many good answers and suggestions here in Q&A section! So asking here makes sense - apart from checking with colleagues and my broker.

I admit I don't know, but will find out and let them know for sure.

I say I don't know the answer and will find the answer or find someone who has the answer.

If I don't know the answer to a question a client asks, I tell them I will get the answer and let them know.

Depends on the topic!  Something in my scope: research or google.  Outside my scope: advise to contact appropriate parties.

If someone else is asking? "I don't know the answer. I will attempt to find out." And start tapping my resources.
If I am looking to solve something for myself? Same. Start researching to find out.

Look it up or ask my managing broker.

I tell them I don't know the answer, but I will find out and then I do.

I try to find someone who does.

In real estate my first broker told me if I didn't have the answer tell the customer that you will get back to them with it. Never BS!

'Good question, I will get back to you shortly with an answer.'

Tell them I am not sure but will assist them in helping find the answer. 

I start by admitting my shortcoming then seek the answer independently. Who doesn't love to find an answer to a great question?

First one must understand that just because a question is asked, an answer is not compelled.

"I don't know" is a perfectly good response.

If the answer is necessary to progress, I find the answer OR refer to those who do know the answer.

Before I invest my time and energy, I must understand why that question is important to the one asking.

It depends on the question.  

I always say I'll find out for you.  Would never BS an answer.  

Tell the truth.  I don't know let me find out and get you the correct answer.

Usually, I say, "I don't know; let me see if I can find out.

Say, "Thats a great question" ! Let me find the answer and I'll get back to you. We tell all our agents " There are no stupid questions" Find the answer and get back to them later.

Ask someone that does but I never act like I know an answer I just admit that I need to do some research and I will get back with whomever.

Usually the issue is trying to determine what the best answer is. That takes working with the client to determine that. And sometimes you just have to pick one answer and go with it.
