I have never, ever done it and never, ever will. I don't appreciate receving cold calls and I won't inflict them on anyone else. No portion of my business comes from cold calling. (And you do need to be very careful with the do not call registry issues these days, as well.)

I don't do any cold calling. I had a telemarketing job, for like a day, in my early twenties. I walked out and never went back. I know agents who are successful cold calling, but I would rather use other methods. It's not for everyone.

A lot of people take that do not call list seriously.  Any calling I do is to my sphere.

Not for COLD CALLS, I am afraid of the DO NOT CALL list and penalties.

Call me or direct me to call you in an email is a different story.

I am blessed to have repeat business so I don’t have to cold call. I don’t doubt that it works but it seems like a low productivity activity.

I don't cold call.  I don't like getting cold calls.  There are plenty of other ways to prospect like door knocking, expireds an fsbo.  We all have the ways we prefer.

 KW and their dialing for dollars programs has created an adversarial population of homeowners and buyer.

Sunday, I was holding an open house with 2016 market research as the purpose. Each attendee was seated and asked questions regarding their home buying and selling experience to date. Without exception all 11 parties expressed CONTEMPT with the siege KW agents (they named KW) placed them under with unceasing phone calls and lack of ability/willingness the hear NO. Which has now turned into 'Hell NO!"

And they shared the same opinion of REALTOR.com and the broadcast of their contact data to masses of agents.

Those reading this comment hopefully will see a light come on.

What does the buyer and seller want in comparison to what is happening to them?  Before you answer with the first thing that pops into your mind, remember, these citizens still want to buy or sell a house.

of all of the 'old school methods" of marketing, I have to say that cold calling and door knocking were both my LEAST FAVORITE....

Nope- never.  My only phone calls are to spend time with people that I want to spend time.  This leads me to clients from referral that I enjoy. 

I tried many things when I was new to the business.  I quickly discovered it wasn't for me.   

ZERO!  Never have and never will.  I can't imagine in what world this would show itself to be the most effective use of my time, energy and reputation!  I think this in itself has made more people cancel their land lines than anything else

How often do you get sales calls with companies trying to sell you leads, better your google position, or manage your social media?  Do you enjoy getting those calls in the middle of a work day?  

Neither does anybody else, and that's what cold calling is.  

I hate it, have always hated it, and will never do it.  

I did a lot of telemarketing in the very begining of my career. Almost none right now. All of my cold calls today are leads, I haven't ment yet .

None. I do not cold call. My past clients and referrals call or email me. I found this is the best business for me..100% repeat or referrals.

The first time forced to in the auto industry in 1982 and it lasted 15 minutes of agony and never since!

There are better ways to get referrals and new clients!

When I first got into real estate I did a lot of cold calling.  Now that my database is built I work it.

I do not cold call.  I have seen agents cold call for hours at a time.  I don't know if it was effective.

I am not much of a cold caller, far too time consuming, I just call the people I know and someone always has a person that they know who needs our services.

I don't cold call and never have. I hate getting cold calls myself so I would never subject someone to something that I detest. 

I never cold call. I wouldn't want those calls, so why would I do that to someone else.

I have never been very good or successful doing cold calls.
