Most of the real estate videos I see? Nobody bothers to edit them. There is a lot of really awful stuff out there.
I use an older version of Adobe Premiere and it works great. But since you have an iPhone, I bet there are some free apps available that you could use.

I just use the free editor that comes with windows and then upload it to youtube.
If you are using a Windows PC, then the free option would be to use Movie Maker which comes standard with Windows. It's very basic and a bit limited in features but it get's the job done. If you want more flexibility and features, I'd recommend Camtasia. It's not too expensive and provides not only extensive editing optiosn, but also allows you to outpu the finished video in several dofferent formats. It also lets you upload directly to YouTube or Screencast.
I'm not as familiar with a Mac, but I have used Final Cut Pro with great results. There are lots of free software options for the Mac, but I haven't tried any of them. A qick internet search will bring up the top picks.
Hope that helps.
I use CyberLink Power Director. Though there is a fairly steep learning curve and I could still learn much more about this program.
My advice would be to use a professional to do the work, and I also see that many have given you great advice and tools. Editing is what makes a video and is time consuming. We feel that your time may be better spent in real estate than in editing. Sure you save money, but your time is also worth money. A
My advice, pick one that is user friendly to get into the game. I used iMovie and now use Final Cut ProX. iMovie is pretty good, but most programs will require a bit of a learning curve. If you're using Apple devices, my suggestion is iMovie. Best of luck.
Goodluck and blog about it when you are finished!
I use Movie Maker too. Someone recommended Movie Studio by Sony, but was so complicated, never used it.
David, stopped by to read the comments. Ken Jones does a great job!
I have been thinking and asking myself the same thing. The problem has been no easy answer. I think the only thing to do is block out time to explore, use and pick one. I have lots of videos none edited and none posted yet
I use Premier Pro from Adobe.
I use a video editor in Romania that I found on elance.com.
Thanks for the question.
iMovie is free on the iPad.
Good morning David. I do not do my own video work, I hire a company to do this work, the quality of the shoot is what I am after.
David Baker Realtor - Laveen Homes for sale - if you have iPad - I think you can use iMovie to edit the movie.
There are quite a few software that can do that. Including some apps on your smart-phone, I think.
I use movie maker. It is free and basic. I get decent reviews on my videos so will most likely stick with it till at least the end of the year. User friendly to boot. I know because as a dinosaur I move about pretty easily. Mark
