If we weren't risk takers we would never go into business for ourselves so never the sure thing.

Good morning Richie. I have been known to take chances, but not as many as I once did.

Richie Alan Naggar I'd say, this depends on many things. Age plays an important role in being a risk-taker. I did it twice - moved from India to USA and switched the career from IT to Real Estate! However, if someone tells me to change something (or take risk) perhaps I will not do it!

In the past I was a big risk taker but not so much now as I don't have the same drive and ambition to grow my business. Business is good.

I think a certain amount of risk should be part of any business plan. I also believe in diversity, change and always have a plan B,C & even D.

I'm able to take time out because of past risk taking, but will up risk taking & explore new ways as 2016 begins.

"YOLO" (You Only Live Once) is the rallying cry for some of the stupidest things I've seen (and had to rescue people/recover bodies from).
I'll take risks, you take them everytime you step off the ground or out of your house or do any of countless things around the house, but after years of risk management/mitigation work I only take the sensible ones.
I have too many people counting on me being around to do anything less.

Some of both for me, a balanced risk portfolio for all areas of my life. Too comforable is too bland for me but all-risk is a recipe for stress.

right now.... i take the sure thing... for instance, we just picked up a multi lot piece, we could price at market rate and sell and make more money..but rather we went at rock bottom price. we bought the land right so we arent getting hurt... then we take the land profits (paid up front) and go do it again on another plot, pricing 10% easy , under market. most disagree with me, they would sit, wait and make more. i want some synergy and multiple options.. a few years ago i wouldnt have done this strategy. i think times are different here. i hate national election years... scare me

Not 100% sure I understand the question. I have found there are many different ways of accomplishing the same goal(s) when representing clients. I am open to learning something new, which I do at least once on every transaction. I would warn an agent that is so set in their ways, to at least be open to new ideas and new ways of doing things or they may miss an opportunity. Change is the one constant we can count on in our industry. Hope that helps, that is how I read the question.

There are many risks that are mandatory on the path to great success in real estate. The time to be conservative is after you have fully funded your retirement plan.
