Bob "RealMan" Timm over the period, rechargable batteries may have improved. At least I did not have great experience with them.

The rechargeable, when I was using them didint hold up over time. How they perform today, I know not. I use the disposable and am content in it

I have several sets of rechargeable batteries and they work fine. I do have to remember to charge them so I keep spare packs of the other type in my camera bag.

Good morning Bob. I do see some advantages of rechargeable batteries. Great for portable electronics – bad for flashlights. I've had too many die in a crawlspace or attic.

We use a tremendous amount of batteries in our equipment and a few years we went the rechargeable route, thinking that we would save money and resources.

We gave it up after a short time as the lifespan on a rechargeable battery is generally fairly short and it did not make it worth the extra cost, wasted time, and unreliable batteries when you need them the most deep in the forest.

Now we just watch for sales on Duracell batteries and always have good quality long lasting power in our many devices.

I have had great luck with them...most of them lasting for several years and still going strong. I also have a 12V charger I can use in my car that charges them fast, so I can get back to business quickly.

We use them in the barn for extra lights. They seem to work fine.  Had our setup for years.   Battery life is good. I like the rechargeable batteries.

I use both. In the old days, rechargeable batteries were a pain, but battery technology has improved. I have rechargeable batters on my camera, spotlight, flashlights, etc that all work well and hold charge. When buying AAA, those batteries we get a Costco seem to last longer than many major brands. I've also had good luck with batteries that I bought here: http://batterywarehouseva.com/

I have been buying regular batteries in big pacages from places like Cult of Mac for way less than the price and hassle of rechargables. Plus cameras among other items have batteries built in that recharge.

It depends on the device they are in.  Rechargable do not do well in devices with a constant draw, like a pager.  I've had good luck in flashlights and cameras in the past.

I have a friend who is a videographer/filmmaker --- and he is a big fan of battery re-charging --- he even as an online store -- it's a popular place.\

Not sure about the lower-priced batteries.

I bought an expensive lithium battery to run a led flashlight to take around with me. Not a great experience since the first two batteries were defective. Then sent flashlight back, it was tested and found to be working.

I go with manufacturer specifications and carry a spare.

Most likely you can download the model manual.

I always bring a charger and put inside my car glove compartment if running low.

We've always had good luck with these batteries. We use them in our keyboards, mouses, GPS, cameras, headlamps, clocks, etc, etc. They're still going strong after many years of use.
