Sugar doesn't do anything for me, I don't like sweets. But fats, Yes please...butter, oils, etc. Love cooking with them. That said, my favorite flavorings come from seasonings/plants. Cayenne, garlic, etc. Mmmmm

You can get a lot of flavor with spices etc. we cook at home with no fat, sugar 6 days a week and it is all really good. That night out at a steak house with steak, creamed spinach etc does take the cake though.

As far as sugar, I thought it was always combined with spice. Perhaps when sugar is paired with fat, it just makes you naughty(or naughtier).
