Imagine what happens to the individual who has the Tiara and then has it removed. How this person handed such a public humiliation will say volumes about her character. I truly hope she lived above the ruckus imposed on her.

Mistakes happen - it's how you recover from them that really matters...

As we are human we all make mistakes; the major question will we admit to the mistakes and then do the right thing.

Just saw this on the news.  All one can do is apologize and move on.

What do you mean "if" it happens. It has and it will again. I just suck it up, admit my mistake and move on.

Luckily in real estate it is mostly something quickly recoverable from and not in front of a half billion people!

You just have to move on. Real Estate is a people business and people DO make mistakes.

there's nothing anyone can do other than "fess up" and say you made a grave error....apologize.... admit the error....then onward and upward....

A sincere apology.  Don't know how that works in the Miss Universe contest; however admitting your mistake and saying your sorry goes a long was in real estate.

All of us make mistakes. I hope they agent and buyers will understand. 

I would fix it immediately- I would also except the blame!

I would have done what Steve Harvey did.  Own up to the mistake, apologize and hope that everyone will move on from the situation.

I showed two new homes side by side and made a mistake on the contract offer. Luckily the other agent was understanding.

Definately move on quickly.  It was so sad and exciting.  I am not actually a pagent fan. 

Get the facts straightened out as quickly as possible, any delays will just result in more problems.

I have no idea what happened to Miss Universe, but I, luckily, never made such mistake. I think, apologies is the only thing you can do.

First of all, Harvey would be fired and who ever gave him something that made it confusing would be fired too.

You send the offer contract in writing.  In this case I suggest you tell them they are next in line with permission of sellers.

I hate how the MC states he feels so bad.  Who cares?  It isn't about him nor is it about his feelings.  It is the same when people offer condolences; "I'm so sorry to hear about your loss"  is not the same as "I'm so sorry for your loss"

Lucky for agents our transactions aren't televised so there is a much, much smaller audience. Best course of action is to quickly apologize, then move forward with the correct info.

Years ago an agent made an offer on the wrong property and it closed.  The property was across the street. Agent was in a world of doo-doo as the buyer were trying to recind the contract and seller was holding firm.

Somehow, I felt that agent was at fault big time...

Just watched the whole 5 plus uncomfortable minutes on YouTube. All I can say is, wow!! I really don't know how I would have handled it.

Jeff, have made an offer, and the Seller mistakenly signed the offer, thinking they were signing the counter area.    That pageant was very awkward last night!

Apologize and as quickly as possible correct the error. We all make mistakes but you can't sell the house to two buyers.

I would  call the Agent and tell Him/Her exactly what happened.  Apologize profusely  and move on. It would teach me to be more careful in the future.
