Not so far as I know... we now have some incredibly tall buildings in Uptown Charlotte.

I'm in California --- I think we might have cornered the market on restrictions of all kinds.   

Yes. Princeville limits new construction to two stories and our county (the whole island of Kauai) limits homes to two stories and condos to three stories. We want the low profile, old Hawaii feel to be maintained here instead of maximizing profit with high rises.

Mine is not, but some areas of Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Malibu, Beverly Hills, etc. have, the fight for views can be quite fierce. 

Yes and it is very outdated. It is only 4 stories.

     For many years, nothing in the "Capitol District" could be higher than the Florida Capitol (22 stories).  They've changed the rules; I need to look it up.

We don't have a building height restriction, but please keep this quiet. If our town manager gets wind of this she will make sure we get an ordinance addressing this. She can place it next to the damn outdoor lighting and landscaping ordinance she put in place not to long ago.

Yes and there is much complaining when someone gets a variance.

I live in Washington, DC and there is a height restriction in the city.  It's 130 feet, but there are other requirements that complicate it.  

We do not here, but along the coast it is 53 feet

You bet. And the citizen incessantly complains about the result such restrictions impose. 

Martin County Florida has an absolute limit of nothing over four stories.  This is the maximum and the limit is even more stringent in many parts of the county.

In our town landmarks are not the issue, FAA and certain municipalities set the limits.

Yes, we do.  Three story only/  The city would not even make an exception for the skeleton of a young blue whale that exceeds the 3 story height limit.  A

Our town does have a building restriction. No more than 3 stories.

 Good morning Buzz. Yes. All of Williamson County Tennessee has restrictions. The restrictions are on building height, signage and the size of lot. These are all part of the master plan.

I am not sure, this is something no one has ever asked, most homes are either 1, 2 or 3 stories. In the more commercial area I know there are quite a few due to several airports around.

Yes, many places 45 feet! Along the water the buildings can get much higher!

We are view oriented so nobody can go higher than everybody else.

It depends on location and zonimg, and type of building being built. But 35' is common for maximum height in many areas. It also depends on whether the building is commercial or residential. And agricultural buildings are usually exempt.

the building code in MA would have that restriction, if I remember correctly....
