Until the 500,000 point plateau you better bet your sweet bippy!

Until I am number one in the city, town, county, state or all states you better bet your sweet bippy again.

But best of all is the camaraderie and comments!

I use AR to get my mind going in the morning.

They did till I reached 500,000 for my free acount. I like free. They motivate me now as I'm very close to millionaire status and want to join some friends in that august club! I'm thinking it'll take about 2 more months. After that... points won't matter much at all, except to keep me at #2 in my city and county. (Our #1 will take an awful long time for me to beat so I don't even worry about it. #2 is fine with me.)

Do I know points exist? Yes.

Do I leverage the point system to reward/acknowledge those who respond to my questions. That seems more like common courtesy instead of 'junking' the point pyramid. 

But, I am not offended by those who are point junkies. AR is playing us, so those who can should make the most of the game.

I was a point junkie until I hit 1,000,000.  What can I say?  I have an addictive personality.  

My AR constitutional is about wrapping my mind around the days future activities. The points are merely an indicator of popular acceptance of my opinion and thoughts. I think I should enter politics! It all depends on what motivate means. And 'Yes', I did have sex with that woman!

Not really, but to be honest as I closed in on 100,000 I posted a few extra to get there.

I'm not a points junkie, but I am trying to reach 500,000 pts for free membership...by the end of 2016.

My Leaderboard status probably qualifies me as a points junkie. 

I plan to reduce my activity in the new year. Old habits are hard to change.

Yes, I became addicted while earning my free account in a year, and while earning that free account I discovered that points are about more than just ego, they are designed to teach us and motivate us to keep good blogging habits, so I kept up the good habits that the point accumulation had taught me.

I like points and I think the concept of AR established is genius.

Michael J. Perry I think points are a great motivator and contributes to an agents competitive nature. I don't think ActiveRain would have half the membership they do now without the point system. Yes, in the beginning, but not so much now.

To be honest, Active Rain points are what got me going, seeing me rise spot by spot on that ladder was great motivation. When i reached the top of NH, points were not as much of a concern other than now staying on top. BUT the key was the more i posted, the more active i got, the more new clients i got from my Active Rain blogs, now that is the reward we should all seek. 

I love the interacting with all of you on AR.  The points are secondary but a great benefit.

Points are a good method of accountability. It is easy to slip in participation but points help you track your participation. AR has been very good to me so I want to be sure I’m staying involved.

They do nothing to motivate me.  Though, I enjoy the game.

Yes, and yes.  I should be blogging more so I can get even more points.  I don't have a lot of time right now getting ready for Christmas, but soon!

Yes and no. Since I became a free member i do not really check. It is nice getting more points, but I'd prefer more business.

They used to motivate me. Not any more.  I was once a self-professed point hor.

Most certainly!  I'm looking at cranking out 10-12k/month until I hit that magical 500k mark.  After that, I'm going on vacation!

To get to 500K is a goal, but not via any extraordinary means.
