I pick logical long tail search words for my business focused market watch blogs and I do not concern myself with SEO when it comes to my personal blogs. Blogs are mainly to get backlinks to my website, get my name out there and because they are a modern day "must have" on any website.

I've pretty much stopped that because I'm at the point where it's not adding value. I just write about key questions my customers have. And, I will do some competitive backlink research every month or two.

I do look at my GA everyday and check to see how my new posts are doing.
