There are some really silly questions, and yes, you get 10 points for every question, I think only one per day.

Yes , for one a day . I was very slow to get involved here(Q&A) . It turns out it's a fun feature of AR that builds comonality between it's members . Additionally it embraces one key rule of social media - Ask engaging questions to your target audience  !!!!

I wish they would eliminate the points for questions and the points for answers. The quality of this section would probably improve.

I think most of us have likely said it to ourselves as well as out loud.  It's okay as I can choose to answer and sometimes in very snarky way.

Hmmm, one could consider the "pointless questions' to be those without points.

Some are here to have fun, others not so much. Count me among the former.

There are alot less crazy questions now that the points have been changed. Q and A is a great source to both learn and be entertained. If you are all serious all the time, then you may want to skop q and a.

I thought you do not get points for questions. I learned something new .

Yes, some of them are ridiculous.  You now get 10 points for asking a question once per day.  You used to get more...you would also get  5 pts for all the answers you received and 10 pts for every thumbs up you got on the questions.  It was kind of ridiculous.

They changed this a few weeks ago to try to improve the quality of the q's and it definitely helped.  But, yes, there are still some stupid q's, and some seem to go for any bit of points they can receive.  

Dennis - I think you get 10 points per question, but I am sure there is a limit on the number you can ask in any given day. Okay, so as Roy Kelley pointed out, you only get points for one question per day.

Yes there are a whole 10 points for asking a question (one per day per person). I think this format is missing the mark and there are some questions that don't belong.

The big disadvantage of asking a Q here: you receive every individual answer in a separate email. 

There are no pointless questions.  Even the pointless questions get points, which is the opposite of pointless.

Granted there are some silly questions, however, there are also so very valuable questions that benefit our community as well.

I enjoy the Q&A section...even the silly ones.
