All you have to do is become a Rainmaker to have your blogs visible by the public. Something for nothing benefits are limited.

If they weren't a members only post, I assume they are already available for the public to see.

They are available to your public if you are a Rainmaker and not using the FREE version . Also, not sure if my SEO handles me differently due to being a Rainmaker, but I can find many members' blogs through a Google search.

Hi Joshua. That's an interesting concept and would certainly give Rainers incentive to write meaningful content. But, logistically, it probably isn't practical.
Many great posts don't get featured. And, in my opinion, many mediocre posts do get featured. The only way to be assured YOUR posts get to the public is to become a Rainmaker.
Joshua, you write some great stuff. I think it would benefit you do become a Rainmaker.

I think it should be consistent for everyone and all posts. BTW, once you become a Rainmaker, you can go back and make old posts public. Also, you can publish on your own site.

Joshua - I think you meant if AR members are not a Rainmaker, do you think they should have their featured posts available to the public. I would say no. Either pay to become a rainmaker or reach 500,000 points.

Good morning Joshua. I always thought that featured blogs were public unless you don't have a rainmaker account.

Featured blogs are available to the public as long as they are public posts. If the author is not a RainMaker or has marked it "Members Only", it does not become public. Sounds reasonable to me.

Featured blogs by Rainmakers that mark thier post to go public are not restricted to being just members only posts. Members that are Rainers (non paying members) do not have this option and should not be able to post their posts featured or otherwise to the public. That is one of the benefits of a paid membership or having reached Rainmaker status.

No. That is not a function of a Featured Post. Membership does have privileges.

If the post was written as a public post, then the public can see it. Unless you don't have a Rainmaker account.

Featured blogs are public or private based upon the settings of the blog and if you are a rainmaker or not.

They do give us that option, we just have to pay that rainmaker fee to get this done.

If the blogger made it to Members Only, it should not be available to the public. If they are not a Rainmaker, it will never be seen by the public until they upgrade their account.

Joshua Hess All public posts are available to the general public if you are a Rainmaker. You have to pay the price to get your posts made available to the public.

Actually Active Rain members already have that option. By electing to be a member or Rainmaker determines whether it can be public or not.
If you are asking whether authors of Featured Blogs should receive exceptional privileges I would say 'NO."

No, your membership level has to do with public or not. It's great the way it is now.

If you are a Rainmaker, you already have that ability. If you are a Rainer, you can do that by paying a fee to ActiveRain.
