Well in my small area, we know the home inspectors. Although I'm there to let the inspector in. We don't generally stick around for the home inspections due to the liability that an agent can take on.

Debbie,
In my Houston market they are because we have state licenses for inspectors. They have to be fingerprinted and have back ground checks just like agents.

Since Colorado does not license inspectors and there are no background checks or fingerprints, they can’t have keys unless they hold an RE license.

Yes, if they register with the board of realtors. Ours need a CBS code from the listing agent for access, so they can't just use them on all lockboxes, they need permission and a code

Yes, they can register as an affiliate and get them.  Most don't.  It's not worth the steep fees our board charges, especially when most realtors meet them at the property anyways.

I give contractors codes or  1 day codes for Sentrilocks in both California and Hawaii. Will have to double check on your question, though. Don't think so and that would be disturbing. For one, home inspectors are not state licensed in California.

Good question.  I dont know if they are "allowed" or not, just that i dont know any that do.  For our local MLS, need to be a licensed agent to have key safe which might explain why I have not seen a home inspector yet with one.  Wish they did, could make my life a lot easier!  I do know of one termite inspector that has her key, great not having to schedule that inspection on top of all the others.
