Roy... I could argue this question both ways! Certainly can't comment regularly on all of them. Wish it was easier to follow my followed on AR.

I don't think so. I only pop in on a few each day, I created an informal rotation. I follow who seems to be consistently poignant , humorous or positive. I like to have a variety to suit my mood.

I see no good reason.  If you like them why not?

I follow those who add value to what I'm looking for on this platform.... 

I would not want AR to limit me, but i tend to follow the blogs I like. That teach, inform and or entertain me day in and day out

I have read the answers from many members.  As a new member, I chose to follow those who were noticing my first attempts at blogging and asking a question.  Those who welcomed me, I thought I would like to follow.

If no limit is applied, are you not in reality, following EVERYBODY?

The question begs to be asked, "Why did one choose to FOLLOW an AR member?"

What I do not like about the 'follow' concept is it progresses the segmentation of our society. Choose to follow those we like, those with the same values and outlook, blinds us to the real world and ever changing needs and emerging opportunities. 

Now, if one is in the sunset years and more likely to expire before their client base...this is not a problem If you are a 20 or 30 something, you need to stay OPEN and resist the comfort of sequestering oneself in the nest of the like-minded. 

Following the segmentation trend, we loose connection with those different from us...and the result is polarization.

Yes...

1) there can be too much clutter (i.e. harder to find the good content)

2) I can't find enough time to read/comment on all of them/don't want to feel guilty.

When I first started in AR I followed many that were high on their respective leaderboards in their state, but I am now weeding them out because they are no longer active or participating. I only want to follow those that are engaged and currently active bloggers. Not sure that answers the question but I think quality is better than quantity in this regard. 

I follow those whose blogs I've read and would like to read more, those who provide insightful comments, and the "newbies" as part of my "Welcome to the 'Rain" effort.

Why? The more the merrier!

Same as FB. Some agents have 1000s of friends. They post their ex-husands, family members. Have no clue who they are.

We should do a weeding program to remove people. Year end is a good time.

Same with eMail etc....

Only if your plan is to answer everyone every day.  Then you may want to limit what you can only handle per day.

I think you should have as many as you feel you can handle. Nobody should put the limitation on you. Is the system locking up again?

Roy - There is no reason for AR to limit the number of members you follow. On a personal level, that would be up to each individual member here on AR. Some enjoy following a ton of people, while others might be overwhelmed, or only interested in following a few. What does it matter? No need to regulate, other than self regulation.

In theory, I'd say it is good to limit so that you can focus on the key blogs.  In practice, I don't limit.

Roy Kelley I find no reason not to follow more members.

However, it is practically impossible to read and respond to all the blogs and questions from these members.

I dont limit them, but then I seldom get time to visit all of them either.

I can't think of one.  But I would like it to be easier to find the people you follow. 

I like to follow people who actively blog and participate.

Probably no reason to limit them.  Though, I try to follow those with whom I have a little in common.

My 'follow' list changes all the time.  I try to keep it geographically in the areas I work so I can keep up with the local markets.  I follow people I find interesting.  Sometimes I follow someone for the heck of it, and unfollow later if I don't enjoy their blog.

It is up to AR management to decide such an issue.  I don't know if they have any technical, business, cost or other issues.

Sometimes it is very difficult to get over to so many posts and make comments when business is good.

I often seem to "lose" some favorites that I follow while it can be fun to meet someone  new too.
