Sorry that you encountered a crazy - I figure if I only get one every other year it's pretty good! 

Oh yes and they are usually the ones that think they know it all. After a bit they settle down and get reasonable again.

Yes. There will never be a shortage of surprises when dealing with real estate prospects.

With my last client, I had to prep him first. Listen, I have to tell you some things. DON'T REACT and just listen. Then we will have discussion. Ready? He says go!  I tell him and what does he do? Rants, raves and reacts....lol

Not really.  If they started to go down that path I would quickly remind them who the "alpha" is.  "Flipping Out" is not an option.  Get a grip or take a hike!

I often have to deliver a message I'd rather not to a prospective client, but fortunately no one has ever flipped out at me. But I work hard on the delivery of the message so that they would find it hard to flip out, as you put it.

Yes.  It's a "shoot the messenger"moment.

I have not had one flip out but I have had several who were unhappy that I told them the real facts.

I have had to explain the ABC's of ethics a time or two Amanda at VAHLC, FedHomeLoan & Coole Home 

I still tell them what they like or dislike to hear once.  On loan question-I will have them contact their loan agent directly.  For example, the home needs repair or not permitted.

I had one guy tell me to just shut up. I told him to get out of my car. He was the one that shut up. It was over ten miles to his car. 

I have had many ask why, but not flip out.   Always ask what type of financing before I start showing homes

Sometimes it's just an encounter with a crazy.  Sometimes, though, I look back and realize my delivery or message could have been better or more clear.  Can't win em all!

It happens.  And it's never pleasant when it does.  Makes their call saying they want to move ahead with the loan even more rewarding though ...

Amanda - I will always tell my clients the truth, and if that means they can't do something they were planning on doing, so be it. With that said, we have had disagreements, but I have never had a client flip out at me. We get through it one way or another.

Maybe I’ve been lucky but that has never happened.

I can't remember a client "flipping out"  --- either I'm lucky or I'm still stunned by the sound of my head hitting the wall over and over again.

Because they respected my knowledge and that shooting me would not change the outcome..they begrudgingly let it go.

However, it's those folks who believe that dogs are people too, that create the most frequent 'Shoot the messenger' incidences.

"See the sign?' I ask. 'It says NO PETS ALLOWED.'  

"See the camera?" We either skip this house or find a more suitable means to tend to the 'people' you are yelling at, attached to a rope.
