Sometimes a Luxury Car can give the wrong message to the Buyer or Seller. They think you are rich, make too much money, can take a cut in commission, etc.
I drive a 2008 Chev HHR, 1/2-panel

I don't think it really matters if it is a luxury car, as long as it is kept really clean and in good condition. I think that is really important.

When the car you drive is more expensive than the house you are trying to sell, that should be a clue.

I think it is only important to the real estate agent driving the car. I drive a 2009 Chevy HHR and it is cute as a button!

I drive a 12 year old toyota sequoia. I did not buy a sequoia for my cliens. I purchase it to pull a horse trailer.

As I need a truck for other uses that is what I drive.
As it is me they will be talking to and not a vehicle it is more important I look the part.

Richard - I think it depends on the market you are trying to capture, and the image you want to portray.
There is no need for a luxury car in my area, and I will either drive a Chevy Silverado Truck, or a Honda Accord.

I drive a Toyota Highlander. And I think driving a reliable car is what counts.

It is not important in my market. I would say have something comfortable, reliable and clean. I drive a MAzda CX-9 that is going on 10 years old. Every time a clients sees or rides in it they think it is new. I have taken really good care of it.

We are the land of trucks and I love my Ford Explorer SportTrac. We have encountered consumers who have expressed concern over agents with too-pricey cars. As said already . . . clean and comfy and it's all good.

My answer would be...it depends on your market. In my area a car with four wheel or all wheel drive is a must. I love my Subaru Forester.

Not important at all ....I drive a 2012 Honda Accord and keep it nice and clean ...I see those that drive Mercedes and they do very little in Real Estate!

I drive a late model honda accord and I do make sure it's clean for my clients. There are times I am acutely aware that's not a luxury car (when the buyer drives a high end car)...but it represents who I am...presentable, and offering good value!

I have a lot of cars but for the purpose of being a Realtor as long as its clean and dependable I dont know if the "status" piece really matters in this day and age

Richard L. McKinney P.A. It depends on what market you are working in.
There is an unwritten rule which says, you should be 1-up if not equal. That is, if the clients have Camry, you better have similar or slightly better car - not Hummer for sure.
Now if they have very high end car, it's okay to go there in reasonably high-end car - if you can't match!

I don't think it is very important. These days you can get a BMW for $300/mo or less. Same for Mercedes and Lexus. Luxury is much more affordable now. For me, it is more about the vehicle being reliable and doing what I need it to do.
Right now I drive a 2002 BMW 3 series convertible. I've had it since 2004 and my IT days when the only thing that mattered was dropping the top and going fast. Now, I'm looking at a Ford Edge SUV for hauling tables places, doing light off roading and Search and Rescue work. Plus, it is nice enough to take clients in if needed. Use cases drive the vehicle.

A luxury car is not necessary in our market.
I would rather use our Honda than our Mercedes for business.

I could care less about cars.... to me they are a set of wheels. So I just want safe and I want comfortable for my clients. Beyond that, I don't care and won't pay more for a luxury brand name. Honda does it for me.

Good Thursday morning Richard. I know that there's a lot to be said about driving clients around the style. It depends upon whether you're working with upper end clients are not.

I drive a SUV, it's clean and runs. Did I mention it's paid off? Next year I plan to lease or purchase a new vehicle.

180,000 miles on my 2007 Lexus RX-350 and paid for for many years. My money goes tor ental property and I don't need a luxury car to make me feel valid.

If I was doing high end, very important. Other than that, cleanliness works

Richard L. McKinney P.A. I believe in dressing for success. I drive a Caddilac.

It might matter in the high end luxury market but, for the most part, as others have said it needs to look nice and be clean. When I was an active agent, I kept my cars about 10 years but they always looked new and were clean. I currently have an 8 year old car and a 41 year old car. They both look fabulous and run great.

Great opinions here. I don't think that a luxury car very important but I do believe that whatever you drive be clean, well kept and a newer model.

Richard,
I have 3 cars and tend to drive the one that matches the buyer.

I think it all depends on your clientele. Seems many of my friends either drive Escalades, Range Rovers, Mercedes, or BMW. That's what they're clients drive, so they drive the same.
