We are all visual creatures, aren't we? It is a personal decision what a person thinks is important about them: kids, pets, spouses,  plants, houses, decorations, Profile picture does not to be just a face. If it is a baby face, it is probably what is the most important face in their life now:)

I don't have a problem if it is a FaceBook personal page profile.  I used a picture of my great grandchild once because I loved that picture.

I haven't seen that but I think that lacks professionalism.

As long as it is not your professional photagraph.

I think for Facebook it is good, but for a professional photo, need to keep it professional. 

its a grandfather or grandmother who just had their first grandchild? i think its ok for facebook. i myself wouldnt do it here as a profile pic. as a pic at the very end of blogs as a 'family" shot its fine.

I personally want to see what each person looks like now ...I want to be able to relate with them ....it's hard when you don't know what they really look like ....Just my thought!

The one I've seen, that you may be refering to, is a student and a recent first time dad.  AR is also a networking community and not so much of a professional association.  I don't see anything wrong with the baby photo, but with that said I doubt I'd do it.  I had to change my personal facebook profile pic recently because it sometimes shows on my business page when I share something there.  That's because I made the concious decision to use my portrait shot on everything even remotely related to real estate.

On a professional platform. I'd say, one should avoid that.

Many eyes just skip that - so not something that I'd recommend.

it depends where and why.  Lots of people used photos for various reasons on social media which I think is fine.    On my website, it's always a headshot of me.

I think on some sites it's ok.  

For business I would prefer to see a photograph of the person I'm thinking of doing business with.  

But as a Mimi, I show off my grand babies as much as the next.  

Roy - I really am not too concerned with what other people use as a profile photo.

Wow that is the youngest agent I have ever seen.  It is a weird.  I do not use my son's photo, my 2 dogs are not in my photo & my horse is not in my photo either.  I think is professional using a photo that looks like you.

I don't get it for a professional profile...Facebook, sure, but anywhere else?  Not for me.

Some actors and actresses got great starts in their careers by starting to work very early in life.  A great profile photo helps the casting people, agents etc. help remember them for various projects.

Not my cup of tea but each to their own.
