I lived through 10 years of The Troubles in Belfast - I would have stayed. You don't ever let them see you sweat!! My first thought is always of secondary explosions that the terrorists used to attack the first responders! When there is a bomb, your human reaction is to run forward to see who needs help but I know now that is the wrong response. You have to allow the correct people to do their jobs first!

Paris is probably the safest City in the world right now. I would have stayed.

I can't say for sure but I probably would have stayed. It's not very likely ISIS would strike twice in the same place. I'm sure they have other targets planned. I think the most populous areas are the most susceptible.

Patricia,
I would have stayed on. I probably would have taken the train to Champagne and then returned after things quieted to a new normal. One of our very good friends flies the United Route from Paris to SF had landed in SF just as it happened. She is devastated by the events. A

I would have stayed and checked to see if there was anything I could do to help out families that had loss of life or injuries. Vacation plans would just be adjusted.

I would stay, but expand the scope of my visit. Security is probably very tight at many Paris attractions, so I would explore other areas of France during the first week, then hit the must-sees in week two.

Hard to say; would have probably stayed. Leaving was not an immediate option, anyway - airports were closed.

I have no idea Patricia Kennedy ....I think I would have to be there and experience what they did before I could make that decision ....

Good morning Pat. We flew cross country three days after 9/11, we were not going to give in to the fear.

Patricia Kennedy I would perhaps never leave the hotel room until everything is calm and quiet!
And I know my wife would want us to fly back ASAP!
(And I love her too much....lol)
2,443,346
That would depend on when my flight was scheduled for. Once these tragedies happen there is rarely another.

I'd high tail it out of there. Right now with the "refugee" crisis I wouldn't want to be in those areas at all.
6,687,212
Not much of a vacation, but as long as I was there and had the time off it may have been a good opportunity to see if there was anything that I could do to help.
67,369
I would have come home. My husband want to go to europe but I said I do not want to go to France as they have had other issues in the past.
3,988,138
Stayed. We all know that sites will open back up and though my activities may have to be curtailed, I would still want to see what I could. Terrorists are everywhere but the beefed up police protection would make Paris much safer than before.
1,650,342
I would stay, but all these events are not the memories I'd like to bring back home.
2,234,859
I'm not really sure what I would do. My instinct would be to go back home, or somewhere else, but with the crazy things going on, I would have questioned any kind of travel and the safety there. Part of me would also have wanted to stay and help, but I'm not trained, and there would certainly be a language barrier. So I don't know what good I would be in helping. I guess I would have to be in that situation to know what I would do.
6,003,885
That made my heart skip a beat even having to make a choice. That would have been so scary!
212,810
I would have stayed, you just cant be scared in todays crazy world. The same thing could have happened in any major city in any country. You just can't base your life on it, if anything the next attack would be somewhere different not in Paris again so you may actually be safter there.
1,580,843
Interesting. If the things I came to see opened up, I'd stay. If the city were basically closed, I'd go someplace else where I can see things. I would not leave out of fear. That said...if my kids were with me? I'd leave instantly.
2,848,479
Actually, the security couldn't have been better after the fact so safety is guaranteed. Another thought, making history a part of your vacation. Still another, France would embrace you wherever you went. Good stuff
3,986,473
Depending on where I was, Paris is s very large city. But I also believe that France shut down it's boarders and you could not even fly out...That is what I had heard, I may be wrong
552,029
I probably would have stayed, not rushing to get on a plane to get out of there.
1,093,355
I'd have stayed. If you change your way of life because of these acts, they win. I'd be cautious, but I wouldn't be coming home early.
1,429,168
I think I would have stayed because I'm sure it would be very difficult to get out anyway. Probably would have altered my plans and spent more time in the outskirts away from from city
21,675
I would have stayed and, if possible, traveled to a bordering country via train to get out of the troubled area and go elsewhere. TBH that's what I would do anyway, if I were in Europe and had access to different countries like they do. I'd spend a day exploring Paris, then on to the next.
1,751,737
I would have stayed, but in a rural area and stay away from large gatherings. These cowards prey and capitalize on target-rich environments.

Patricia,
That is a tough call. I would probably head back or redirect to another country.
