No, I'm pretty structured in what I do. And, another person's lack of planning does not constitute an emergency to me. I am a firm believer in the Just Say No campaign as well.

of course- just make a list and do the best you can. And BOLD teaches you of course to stay the course and not get distracted by the fires- just keep doing what you need to do.

Michael - I have had those days, but actually wish I would have them more often right now. I could use a few more transactions before the end of the year.

Always, LISTS, LISTS, LISTS! My lists always help me stay on track thoughout the day and at the end of the day, my lists let me know what is the priority for the next day!

Yes. It doesn't happen too often, but it does happen. This past week has been full of inspection responses and holding deals together. We have both felt overwhelmed, but we got it done.
We have a full time assistant and a closing coordinator, yet we can still get caught up in the stress of this business.
Anybody in this business that tells you they don't feel like this from time to time is (ahem) fibbing.

Yes, many times a week. I always put too much on my to-do list. Being organized it was keeps me going.

I've had them once or twice. I think I hit some of the smaller items for easy wins.

Absolutely, and it helps to start with a clean desk, and put a list together with everything in priority order.

Michael Thornton happens once in a while.
However, by assigning priority to the tasks at hand, one can get going.

Yes, it happens. There is always ONE most important thing. I start there and then go on to the next ONE important thing and so on.

Yes I do. And when I do, I think about the old adage. "How do you climb a mountain? One step at a time."

Yes & No.
I always have today planned yesterday. This week planned by Sunday or sooner. That said, in our industry "the doctor's office can suddenly become the emergency room". Those are the days I feel overwhelm, when the unexpected (but usual escrow/client) emergencies pop up; when I have to abandon the day's "best-laid-plans" to keep escrows from flat-lining.
I will typically walk away (literally) from it all for a few minutes, take a walk in the fresh air around my office campus, taking deep cleansing breathes and even sometimes call my bride or son, just to hear a friendly voice and talk about something non-real estate. Then I jump back in and save the day .

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday....pick one.
My solution is to put it on my calendar. If it isn't there, it does not happen.
