Actually, I think most of the escrow companies I have encountered in my real estate career have been good -- of course, the exceptions are notable.  I have a long memory about those bad experiences.   

I have 3 good ones on my preferred vendor list.

Yes, I have a title company I use as often as I can. They are on top of it!

Here in the Springs 95% of them are great. 

No escrow companies in my state and I have a great attorney I recommend for closings here in Georgia.  He does a great job and I happily sing his praises for always doing a great job.

I have two I primarily use because the main escrow officers have been there ten years so the service is exceptional. That would be Stewart Title and First American. They also own outstanding 1031 tax deferred exchange companies.

Completely agree with this! Having a good escrow/title company on your side is paramount to a smooth transaction. We've even gone as far as to request an exclusive escrow officer for only our transactions to make it just that much smoother for our clients. We have quite a bit of competition here and that means perks! perks! perks! when it comes to companies wanting your business!
