No problem as long as he is not inspecting houses that he would have a monetary interest in.

I would not love this idea if it hadn't been disclosed up front. And it would depend on whether the inspector is an active agent or simply holding a license.

As long as there is no conflict of interest; why would he need a license if he was a good inspector though.

Happy Birthday.

I would think she or he is educated and knowledgeable -As a client, I wouldn't have my agent do my inspection but I would like that my agent is an inspector because he would be able to spot issues before I fell in love with the property.  An inspector who is an agent would be less important to me as a client than an agent who is an inspector but I would think it would be fine.  As a fellow realtor I would like that my inspector to be a non-competing agent who understands the ins and outs of the industry

I might think it is a conflict of interest. I would not want him telling my clients that he has a real estate license.

And to answer your question, it could be seen as a conflict of interest if they are inspecting the house they listed or are selling.  A

It would all boil down to conflict of interest evaluation.

If I'm the buyer's agent, as long as the inspector is not the seller's listing agent or a member (licensed agent/broker or not) of the listing agent's brokerage I wouldn't care. Otherwise, it would be a clear conflict of interest and I'd alert my client. What happens from there depends on client's preference, where we are in the transaction, and any adverse impacts found.

If on the other hand I'm the listing agent and find out the buyer's home inspector is a licensed agent I wouldn't care at all, even if the inspector is also the buyer's agent. To me, there's no conflict of interest in that scenario.
