Michael -- I don't recall but if/when the question is asked. I would give them a name(or names) of inspector(s) to get the best answer.

Good morning Michael. Not the home inspection business, but have been asked about the mortgage business. I have not hired anyone that has asked the question, but did always give some recommendation.
Make it a great weekend!

Never about that, but many ask about becoming a real estate agent. They do not understand it is a relationship business.

Me too Joe Pryor and occasionally a Realtor. I even hired one; she quit after 4 months working as my assistant because it was less exciting and harder than she thought it would be. I had a Marine tell me he wanted to be a Realtor too, but after I sold him his house; he said compared to the Marines, I worked too hard, he decided to become an appraiser because that seemed easier. Ah yes.
LOL. I'd take it as a compliment Michael Thornton , you make it look prestigious and fun to be one, so they naturally ask you!

I have had people ask about becoming an appraiser but not an inspector.

Yes, one time. I referred him to a home inspector who trained him and then sold him his business!

Not home inspection business, but the real estate business. I give them the good, the bad, and the ugly.... and I think more people decide not to do it after speaking with me than those who do.

No - and if I did - I would advise them to ask a home inspector!

Michael Thornton that's interesting. So far I am yet to come across someone who is interested in being a home inspector.
May be, it's because I work with IT professionals most of the time.

No but I have had vendors at Realtor conventions try to talk me into getting certified since they have no reps in our area.

when I'm asked about getting into the real estate business, I direct them to a licensing course....and then tell them to return after they're licensed and we'd talk.
