I've used Top Producer for years and actually remember my computer NOT being able to process its rather complex search capabilities. I bought the whole program for $99.00! Now I pay that per month in licensing fees. They have unparraelled customer service. If I need a CVS or Exel spreadsheet uploaded I can email it to them, give the searchable category I want and they do it for me! I've NEVER had an issue with their tech folks. Only issue is THEY control the data. If I leave TP I Lose my information so backing up the data to an off-site or cloud NOT of TP is the best bet. I have a 2100 email list which is all Realtors in our Sonoma County marketplace. I can send this out through their servers in Canada and NOT get a spam label put on me by my local provider. I love the way I can categorize my leads. A common mistake we make is NOT remembering that buyer who wanted the NE area of Santa Rosa between $700,000 to $1Mil--I set categories of all buyers and listers by PRICE POINT. I then can break it down further if I wish, Buyer, $700,000 to $1Mil, NE. I currently have my leads club emails, CIPS,CRS,CRS Northern California, KW Luxury agents, etc all searchable in TP and with emails. TP also has all the KW client followup programs plus flyers, listing reports, etc.

If you use the cloud, you should also maintain a non-cloud backup.
