We don't have that option in our contracts--it's cash, personal check, certified check or bank wire. Kind of hard to wire those cows!

The cow the seller kept...He was moving to a small farm.

The car was replaced with cash about 10 days later.  Buyer had to have some funds released that took a few days.

Had a cash deal one time with two negotiating fools. Turned out the earnest money was a Corvette. The buyer drove to the property in it and I drove him home! The seller was on cloud nine!

I do not ever "take" earnest money, rather I have the buyers open and deposit with the title/escrow company.  The lowest amount ever was $50.

Real estate agents do not have the latitude to accept anything other than the coin of the realm.

IN my broker years, lots of personal property such as middle east carpets, art work, house full of designer furniture, not just as earnest money but as full compensation.

Been offered the 'bad child' but never live stock.
