Fun question Michael.  I look back on those Sundays that we took the ole station wagon out and just drove.  Sometimes another family would join us.  Ah and that was possible because we had the early version of todays.  SUV.  "THE STATION WAGON!"

We did the "Sunday Drive" with my parents, 7 kids and one black Lab in our old Meteor Station Wagon - loved that car!  We didn't tour homes though, we just drove and flipped a coin to turn L or R.  No radio but we all sang our favourites - sounds kind of sappy now but it was wonderful.

Funny question...YES we did. My parents liked to dream, I feel in love with every big house. Eventually their dream came true 3 years before I left the roost.

Yes,  I was a weird kid(and now a weird adult).  I use to scour the Sunday newspaper and find new developments to visit.

No, never.

Well except tours of historic homes/mansions like in Newport, Mt Vernon, several from the gilded age in our area, castles in Europe, etc.

Too funny you should ask this question. On a Saturday or Sunday after church, we would tour model homes. I was very young, so I'm not sure of the Towns, although it must have been somewhere in upstate, NY. Don't think I was too fond of it. I do however know my Dad still house hunts in the Southern States.

Michael Thacker - I was in IT and never thought I'd be in Real Estate!

The only time we visited homes at open house was when we were buying our first home - and that time, I was in IT.

My grandparents were Realtors/Brokers.

My Parents were Realtors.

YES we did. But, as kids we loved exploring those big homes, as teens, not so much. I swore I'd never get into the family business.

Michael,

We never did growing up. But then my parents have lived in the same house for over 50 years.

No, we never toured homes. Growing up in Hollywood (Los Angeles area) driving wasn't how we relaxed on a weekend. BBQs, going to the beach, a family baseball game were more our style.

No, I had no interest until I was an adult.  I moved to California from Detroit in 1975 and quickly realized the difference in housing between these two communities.  Back east a home was a place to live but in California a home was an investment.  The concept of living in something, using it and making money the longer it was use made housing something I'd love to be a part of.
