I use Outlook because it is the one program that I have found that does not charge me a subscription fee.

RE-specific because the learning curve and customization for a generic is too time consuming.

It's much easier to set up a real estate specific CRM for most Realtors.  Most come with some generic plans that are easy to customize.  For the non-real estate specific CRM the setup process and customization can be quite lengthy, time consuming and expensive.

I use one that is real estate specific for the simple reason that there is way less setup.  I've used Saleforce and Nimble but they had too much configuration.

Generic, I use Infusionsoft. The big downside is that it is a way bigger learning curve and time investment up front, but the possibilities are limitless and  you will never outgrow it even if you expand and start teams in other cities or states.

It took me probably 8 month to get Infusionsoft working at a high level, but now that all the followup it set up our lead followup, tracking and even contract process, past closing contact etc it is all awesome.

TOOOOooooooooo, must customizing needed to configure a generic CRM or real estate use. THAT is why real estate agent CRM exist.

However, CRMs as we know them today are designed to support the legacy processes that have been in place for 20 years.

The big boy (SalesForce) and Sugar are more oriented to the new requirements....and our legacy systems not there yet...and most likely can not get their on their 1990 platforms.

Well I'm not an agent, so I prefer a more general one.  I think a lot CRM is what you do w/ it/your strategy.
