Yes and it's a great way to give back to the community and get exposure for your business. I have several banners with the local high school. I also donate to the local little league which places a banner at the baseball field that faces the main road. 

I am on every list of athletic activity at Franklin High School and I donate a full page ad in each program.... also the music program....I've done this for years...

But I do get a lot of calls from the marketers they have hired.

That means nearly 80% of money spent goes to the marketers.

Come to think of it we don't.  We use to then it stopped.  Not sure why but glad it did.

Back when the kids were young I did, but I have had enough advertising classes to know that this type of thing is more about donations than advertising and it is not effective.

No, but I'm relatively new.  I don't think our brokerage does either.  I'm actually in the process of reaching out to a canine cancer fundraiser to see about being a sponsor and I considered sponsoring a department shotgun tournament, but it was too far out of my area of service.

I haven't gotten those calls for several years. Maybe because of safety, or maybe in some counties here, you now have to have a license to solicit?

When I owned the brokerage yes I was inundated with calls for placing ads on calendars, sponsorships, donations, signage, programs, etc. I made a budget and committed to do a certain amount. When that was spent it was done and I would tell those that came after to check back earlier in the next year.

No not from high schools.  But, I get a ton of calls from those making golf score cards.

I get these all the time.  They either want me to take out an ad or sponsor an event.

No. I have never received many of these calls. 

Many agents actively participate in sports as coaches or sponsors. The networking opportunities are outstanding.

Buying ads without participation will show your support but do not expect any results.
