Seniors still love their carpet but younger people are still hooked on hardwood!

Hands down hardwood, of course!
Not even close in this market.
But, the truth is, it's more complicated than that. Main level hardwood - prob 90/10. The ones that prefer carpet tend to be 80+ (and a few 70+), but among buyers (which are usually younger than this), it's hardwood.
Bedrooms people are more split - 60% hardwood/40% carpet.
And, yes, I have surveys about this on my site, so those #'s are fairly accurate.

Hardwood is always the first choice especially in the living area. Buyers tend to accept carpet in the bedrooms.

I think most of my clients like knowing there are hardwood floors even if they are covered by carepting.

These days it is either wood or tile. Tomorrow, who knows?

More and more people prefer wood or tile throughout the home and don't want carpet anywhere. I personally like a Travertine floor but color and how it is laid is most important. The trend is away from carpet.

Hardwood. Carpets usually show usage even when cleaned and buyers don't like that.

Hardwood, at least in the major living areas. You can still get by with carpet in bedrooms.

I personally never heard from a client that he would prefer carpet to hardwood( like) floor.

I have buyers on both sides of this --- with dogs - carpet. Mostly carpet in the bedrooms as it is warmer in the winter. Hardwood in the main living spaces.
