We don't even have a local board.  We have local broker owned MLS and I'm a member and office holder there.

I belong to a new one (seems to be redundant) cost is slightly lower and it helps when I am locked out etc. They all know me personally. The 110 year old ASSO got problems-bureaucracy and they do not pick up their phone...

Today,  nearly ALL Realtors believe they can not function without being a member of the association. These folks know of only one way to sell a house.

A newbie can consider saving up to $9,000 yearly by choosing to leverage Zillow and not being a member of the association.  The new blood is not going to tolerate archaic thinking and methods. This is not going to take years and years and years and years to happen.

Today I am a member of the association. If you don't think I'm working a new business model you would be mistaken.

Yes I am.  I find the service to be worth it.  I think the state association gives me the most for my money though.

We do not have a choice out here.  You must join or you won't have access to the MLS or a Supra Key.  We are also automatically signed up with the state and national associations.

Membership is not an option in our area if you want to be part of the MLS system.
