When selecting Ambassadors, your profession is not nearly as important as your involvement in active rain.

Richard L. Sanderson - I know a few who are not Real Estate Agent or Broker - Craig Daniels and Steve Hoffacker to name a couple.
I believe most members over here are Real Estate Agents or Brokers - and having higher concentration of this profile, it is likely to fine more of them here.
I do not believe it has anything to do with points or even profile types.

I have seen several Ambassadors from fields other than being real estate agents. There are many lenders, home stagers, a forester and even some attorneys. An Ambassador has to be willing to reach out to help the community and specifically newer members. Maybe real estate agents have more free time or come under the spotlight because they are the greater number here.

There are more significant issues with Ambassador ships than creating more categories.
I would prefer things remain the same than to add more categories without addressing the other issues.
I am not sure any change would be noticed if Ambassadors disappeared completely. Quite the opposite of your suggestion.

you make a good point - I am sure that AR would have them if they were willing to do the outreach

I don't know. Some AR employees were around when the ambassadors were appointed and they may recall the reasons.

Good Sunday morning Richard. I'm a home inspector and I am and I am an ambassador.

I think you bring up a valid point and we should see more of different types of people as part of our networking group

there are agents, broker, lenders, inspectors, builders, stagers, a forester, real estate pro services and educators. Seems like a pretty good cross section to me.

Not only that but many of them are no longer active on ActiveRain either.

Richard- I'm not sure what the answer is. I don't think that they limit profile types but rather hope that ambassadors are engaged in the community. And by that I would think posting and commenting on the posts of others as well as trying to support the community as a whole. I love to learn about all of the different professions that are represented here.
