Like Roy Kelley I don't bother about them. I'm glad there are far more good comments and blog posts to focus on.

I pass on the spammy posts, and ignore the drive by comments.   I just move on, too busy to spend time on the minor things.  

I just move on when I see these blogs. My preference is to focus on the many excellent bloggers.

The drive by comments on my blogs do not bother me even though I may not be impressed by the practice.

If it's true spam, I report.

If it's copied and pasted (i.e plagiarized from someone else), I report when I can and glad they finally made it easier.  (Just reported a bunch from someone that were copied from another site.

I don't have a problem if the person copied their own post from their own site...but if it's someone else's, that's just wrong and bad for the site.

Drive by comments, etc are really annoying, but I generally just ignore and move on.

With apathy?

I am probably not the only one who will ignore them, never again read their blogs, not go to their Q&As, "unfollow" them if they happen to be on my list, etc. If it is truly spam such as your #1 and #2 examples, I will report them. But I don't think we have any rules and regulations that pertain to "drive by" comments, and lousy blogs. There are several borderline ones who use tricks to stand out amongst comments (I won't say here because I don't like to start fights about right and wrong) but they do ANNOY me.

The way I see it Karen, I'm happy they stopped by and did something.  It's better than nothing at all.

A:  you share your angst with others in the Q&A forum because many of us share the same feelings as you do!

I think Bob Stewart and team are moving towards giving us more control to report members that aren't being great community citizens, but you can always reach out directly to him with a name.  I heard he does listen.

I've learned that I find what I focus on. Therefore, I focus on the many great bloggers who form the community of Active Rain and I ignore the spammers, copy and pasters, and drive by commenters.

It is almost as bad as going through spam on an email account to make sure we did not get a legit message.

I don't even sigh.  I just move on.  Who cares, really?

Some I stop following, if I did in the first place, other than that I avoid commenting or even reading their posts.

I ignore them.  Sometimes I laugh at their posts.  Saw someone paste the "welcome to AR and congrats on your first blog..." on a spam blog post selling herbal products.  Got a good chuckle out of that!  Was tempted to thank them for making me laugh with their copy & paste comment.

Sigh and move on.  Hit report and let support take care of them but for me, I'm done.

YOU have a choice. It should be to just keep on driving.

I ignore all of it.... there are too many good posts & comments on this platform to deal with that nonsense....
