Except here on Active Rain or the occassional one for personal correspondence, I do not use these for professional purposes.

I don't...as it's often not professional and not all phones can read and some get confused by them.

When I have the time or feel the need I use them.

I commonly use :-) with client emails and since I also handle social media, it's common practice for me 

a smiley face on occasion....

EVERYTIME my sister 'unfriends' me. 

That would be 4 times a week.

texts to my daughter and occasionally to clients - usually the blushing smile
