I don't work for anyone.... I hang my shingle at his office and run my own business....

I am the broker now, but prior, when I did work with my license under a broker it was because ...

1. He had integrity
2. He was an awesome mentor
3. He knew the real estate laws in our state backwards and forwards and reviewed everything in a timely fashion to keep us out of the weeds.

He retired and I bought the company 20 years.  I stive to be like him.

Good people to work with

I jumped ship from a big box broker because:

1. I paid too much in fees in commission slits and got little to nothing for it.

2. I did not like being told "just close the deal" and be expected to throw my clients under the bus in the process.  Freedom to fun my business service focused not greed.

3. Association with the brokerage name did not bring any business ... people hired me not the name. 

I went independent and have never looked back.

Because I like myself!   lol

Oh, one more - profit share. About 48% of total profit share is to the agents and broker/owner keeps 52%. Which company does that?

I am an independent contractor so I don't work for a broker, I work for myself.  In Ontario, a broker does not hold the real estate licence.  The real estate brokerage holds the real estate licences of the sales representatives, brokers and brokers of record.

Good morning Evelyn. I have never worked for anyone, so couldn't give the answer.

Since I have been in business, many wanted to join my two companies, but have done very little recruiting.

My broker has owned the company for over 35 years. He's also volunteered for leadership positions at the state level and has served on the ethics hearing panel. That's the kind of broker I want to learn from.
