David Barr Maybe you need to give a class on email etiquette.

They'll get bitten sooner or later and pay closer attention to where their material goes immediately after the faux pas hits their pockets. I would rarely address it due to the loss of the entertainment value it often provides.  

I don't let issues go unresolved..do it right or you work elsewhere

I don't any more, but I had some major 'reply all' problems at my last office.

Two previous offices used to allow agents and admin to send emails with requests for donations to the school football team, cheerleading squad and all sorts of other stuff.  Stop.

There was even an email pitch for donations to an admin who was either not insured or underinsured to help repair her condo.  No.

If you can catch them doing a reply all to an embarrassing email, that would drive the point home quickly.

We haven't had any issues.

It's not common and usually can be laughed off, until something personal or confidential is revealed as has happened in our office. Then it's a retraining issue.

Our office doesn't have that problem, maybe because we are fortunate to have mostly very experienced professionals. And staff that follows up if someone makes the occasional mistake.

Sometimes, agents try to solicit funds or support for favorite causes. There need to be office policies for office email communications. 

You can always send unwanted email to your spam folder if the agents fail to follow the office policies.
