I have worked with greedy & shady people only to discover, verify and confirm that...THAT IS NOT THE WAY TO GO!

Nothing. I am a salesperson. I don't learn from my customers. Unless it's something like a new restaurant.

The most important life lesson learned since becoming a Realtor is fairness to all. I'm a male, white, Mid-western, Christian, heterosexual, American. I was in the US Army and a Republican all of my life.
I've worked with married gay couples, Muslims, Mormons, people from India, Arabs, Koreans, Chinese as well as atheists, agnostics, southerners, New Yorkers, Liberals and many other groups and individuals. I have learned more about the power of a Women than I could ever have imagined. One of my practices is addressing the clients by the person that contact me first so if it is Sally with Frank I write Dear Sally and Frank. Otherwise if Frank contacts me it's Dear Frank and Sally. Being Open Minded and fair is the biggest lesson learned as a Realtor. Everyone should have this experience, prejudice and racism would disappear in one generation.
The second lesson is knowing how to act as a professional with things such as how we speak, subjects to avoid, how to dress, manners and listening to others more than hearing ourselves.

I have learned more about myself than I have about other people . I know i give 100% and trust a lot and do not give up and am honest to a fault and I am not sure all people act, believe, or behave as I think they should. I tap into the emotions of people as I am a very emotional person . "I think therefore I am." D

Good morning Chris. I have done two mortgages where one of the borrowers was terminally ill. They taught me about living everyday to the fullest.

I worked with a husband after the loss of his wife in selling a home. His love for her taught me a lot about love and compassion.
And I love working with first time home buyers full of hope and promise. They always seem to inspire me and remind me that having a "I can" attitude is the way to stay on top.

There have been many things but the most memorable of them was an eighty year old client who took me aside one day and explained how important it was for him to get a secretary who could do all the paperwork he hated to do and suggested I needed one too.

I have learned that my instincts are often correct. If I don't feel right about working with a seller it usually isn't what I should do.
I have learned to that it is important to me to not give in to a seller that wants to price well over market prices. It is a waste of my time and money and the seller doesn't generally come around. I don't need the stress either.

1) I received a call several years ago from a Seller who said I was the #1 agent in the whole state and I argued with him that I was not. So, don't argue!
2) That Buyers and Sellers appreciate honesty more than anything else.

I have learned so much from many different clients and other people in the real estate profession. Trust and when to give it is one of them.

One I am sometimes to trusting and two...I am almost always to trusting!

One - that life's going to happen, and when it's not pleasant, you just keep going regardless. I've had clients had really tough luck getting things done but kept their heads up & kept pushing til they found success
Two - I've had shady people make me realize sometimes in life we're given a choice between a lot of money and being able to look proudly in a mirror. I'm the type that prefers to sleep well at night.
