I make myself accountable to my team members and they, in turn, feel very accountable to me.... it's a two way street....

Yes, I have had a few over the years and have learned from each one of them. I am currently using Brian Buffini and am very happy with it.

I don't use a coach but like Barbara Todaro I find accountability to my team is very motivating.

My perception, as a coach/mentor, is most people don't need a coach because they aren't really motivated to be highly successful. They WANT to make lots of money but they're not really willing to do what it takes. In spite of that, though, most agents know what they should do to be moderately successful. In those cases, some guidance and the "accountability" factor can truly make a huge difference.

I've been tempted to use a coach now and then, but every time i checked into it, it was too expensive, and their next seminar was somewhere across the country like Vegas, Austin TX, or Oregon. You would think these people would rotate around the country, but they don't seem to ever do that.

Nick and Bob do most of the coaching on our team, and they have coaches outside of the team.

I've tried a number of different methods...
1. An accountability group. Didn't work. Hard to organize everyone's schedule and it was hard to get folks to participate.
2. Productivity Coach. Seems my coach had his own agenda and he wasn't helping me in the areas where I was weak.
3. A Business Coach. I picked to work with this professional because she was not RE specific and I thought I would get better perspective. I paid her for 4 months and didn't really generate any extra business as a result.
What has been helpful is working with another member of AR. I email her daily about my goals for the day and she keeps tabs on my progressive. It's tricky to find a "partner" who is that available. I got lucky!

I do have a coach. No a "rah-rah, take it to the next level" coach, but a lady who has helped me immensely in making both personal and career decisions. We are now working on a five year plan. For me, it was always too easy to base my life on my production goals. There are other things to be won, not just production.

I'm coached by Tom Ferry and I use the Brian Buffini Work by Referral System, which is a self-managed coaching process.

I don't at this time. I have been thinking about trying one. I think accountability and coaching are two separate issues. All of us are accountable to someone. It may be our broker, or our spouse, or someone else. We are ALWAYS accountable to ourselves. Coaching is aid to get where one needs to be to satisfy those to whom we are accountable. Accountability is the what and coaching is the how. I think all of us would be helped by having a coach observe and critique our methods

Yes Daniel W. Hayes - I do have a coach and accountability partner, too.
And yes, it does help to keep you on right track!

I do not have one but have served as one. Years ago when I ran my company I used one and it was helpful.

I have not used a coach. However, I have worked closely with a successful coach who was advising her clients. Those who will follow recommendations can certainly go to much higher production levels.

I am on my own right now and just know what has to get done, with my to-do list I know it has to get done everyday.

no, i do surround myself with a small group that i use as a sounding board/mentors/devils advocate. more than a ra-ra cheerleader, more like..."what do you need to do to get that sold? king of thing. using a group that helps you and vice versa. like maybe a loan guy, escrow, inspector etc... all help each other. they actually DO care, cause ifyou do well, they do well. your coach if you hired one, actually only does well if your screwed up :)
