Good morning Daniel. In a couple of the states I do business it is allowed, but a complete conflict of interest.
Make it a great weekend!

There was a time in my area that agents were also taking the loan app and getting paid a cut from the lender. It always made me uncomfortable and I am glad when that idea lost momentum.

It's pretty typical out here in CA. I don't like it. If I tried to become a really good real estate agent, I couldn't do it without my mortgage skills slipping -- too much involved in both fields to be great at both.

I've received offers on listings from realtors who are also lenders. It can work, but I'm not a fan.

I can only think of one agnet that also is a licensed loan officer, but I think he only does one at a time.

Daniel W. Hayes - I have not seen Lender/Real Estate Agent in our area....it seems it's a conflict of interest perhaps.
However I have seen husband working in one field and wife in another.

Daniel - There was a time when many brokerages were attempting to get into the lending field, but I think they ran into all sorts of legal issues and decided it was not worth it. This was about 10 years ago.
However, there are still many real estate brokerages who have a direct business relationship with title companies (some own them), and that somehow does not seem to be an issue.

Not very often, but 2 weeks ago we did have a showing by one of these duel purpose folks.

Like Tammy Lankford I've worked with lender who had been agents and agents who had been lenders, but never simultaneously.

I know one who has done each job in my market (currently an agent) but never both at the same time.

Daniel W. Hayes I once worked for a broker who was also a lender. Disclose, disclose, disclose. He was the only I knew.
