Gary,
First of all, this applies to all industries not just real estate. The stuff that is available on line on a zillion subjects is amazing...Most professional in any field are not necessarily there to grow and be the best...they love the status quo. What better evidence is there than the Congress where people have served forever, and doing the same thing over and over again.
In our biz, we only work with #1 or #2 or someone gunning to dethrone both. They are ready to change and want to be top of mind...The information streets are paved with gold, but very few see it let alone pick it up.
Out of over a million plus agents only 2000 make the WSJ list...Have I made my case? A

Gary Mellott . my opinion is mostly the latter. They are simply satisfied with mediocrity... and some of them don't even achieve that level.

I think it might be some of both. Time is a real issue but also motivation. You have to want it so there is maybe some laziness or satisfaction with the status quo.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel has it right, it is the norm for all industries. I love to take advantage of as much information as possible, but sometimes especially this time of the year a lot of us get busy.
AR is a gold mine of knowlege, very few people take full advantage of it.

It could be a matter of its not in their business plan. I see quite a few good ideas here and there, but I only respond to what I am geared for

Gary, good thoughts but there are a ton of gold mines out there. I am on webinars all the time, have James Wedmore series on video, Go to Meeting does a lot for holding webinars which I do, the T3 group, etc. I also recommend Curaytor with Chris Smith and Jimmy Mackin.

This is human nature, as far as I'm concerned. Most people don't take advantage of what's sitting there for them.
