I know what you mean Sam Shueh .  Many years ago when I was trying out my first website, it was a Realtor in my own office who filed a complaint against me. (now former brokerage)  Then, someone from each Brokerage in the town also reported me.

I had to spend weeks defending myself to the newly formed Committee to prove I was doing nothing wrong, just different.  How dare I be progressive!

If another Realtor objects to what you're doing, take it as a compliment: they're feeling threatened.

Actually it is how you market or farm.  I have learned the neighborhood and who the realtors live first. I skip their residences. You may be encroaching into other realtors "farm".

Next I do everything right check with HOA  and stay good terms with management.  Rather dropping off flyers I do mail by skipping realtors who live in the area.

Also if you farm it consistently  they even say " Hi Sam"....

It bothered me at first, but I just learned to ignore it and move on. You learn quick that you have to get X amount of no's to get one yes. Especially in your market that one yes can be worth a lot of money so the no's are well worth it.

Your question, and your responses to others comments are confusing to me.

I see no evidence you are being picked on.

However, I would encourage agents that hearing of responses from other agents at meet up and at networking event or even within your office regarding how 'over the top' their marketing is, indicates the marketing is working. The absolutely most obnoxious ad I ever endured repeatedly has embedded in my mind that WESLEY CHAPEL KIA is HUGE! That is how you spell marketing success.

Marketing is about getting attention! Celebrate!! This is much better than being ignored. Now go amplify what you are doing.

Work within the rules of the HOA and be sensitive to those that do not wish to be bothered. Others will welcome you with open arms.  If a real estate agent in the neighbohood is protesting then you must be doing something right and getting into their comfort zone.

I never had another person make a rude and unprofessional comment on any of my blogs.  Just as you indicated other Realtors are the culprits

Other agents complained??? You work in a tough neighborhood, Sam! But if people say no to what your offering that's fine. Let it roll off your back, keep a smile on your face and look forward to making some good connections as you keep going with your plan.

I would not categorize any of those comments as personal attacks ("being picked on"), but statements that they do not wish for your services.  Move on.  This is no different in any other sales field when you are shopping and someone asks if they can help you and gets rejected.  They move on to the next person.  No personal offense meant by them.

Best to ignore the negatives and just keep moving forward, no time to waste on the detractors.

ignore them.... especially other Realtors....they're lazy and very jealous.... that should make you market to a greater magnitude....that's what I'd do....pull all the stops and really blaze a trail....

You just have to ignore them. One of my agents was posting information at a community center in a particular subdivision and he received a call from an irate realtor telling him "stop marketing in my neighborhood"!!! I told him she could not do that, no one owns any particular neighborhood

I dont see that as "getting picked on".  I am told by other agents they see my name "everywhere", when in fact I do not spend that much on marketing.  I think it is quality over quanity.  I did Fortune 500 phone sales for 9 years, making between 50-100 calls a day.   I am used to "no", it is part of the job.  All it takes is one maybe or even better, YES and it pays for itself.

Hang in there.

Sam, guess I have not experienced this, but if someone picked on me, would probably let it go, and not worry about it.
