Referral. If someone else trusted them, I went with them. That being said, when I bought my first home at 25 years old, I was not yet a Realtor. I found a home for sale, parents of co-worker/friend of mine. Bought it with no Realtor, and when I sold it, I represented both sides. I have never had to hire a Realtor, but being a 3rd generation I had little bit above knowledge of the process.
