go to the building dept. and those permits should be recorded there.... you can get a copy and should have one of the history of the home you are selling....there may be some surprises.... open permits with no sign offs!! or no permits pulled at all!!

You can look on the property appraisers website for the square footage and check with the building department for any architect drawings on the house that may have been submitted.

Pubic records. Now we can check all records and permits online ( free), but if it is a recent addition without a permit, an appraiser will measure the property. In my mls, to list such property we can quote the owner on sqft.
