We got plenty of competion, local mom+pop, Pete's, even McDonald got coffee tastier and cheaper in a rural small city.

Harlem NY got a few Starbucks with mediocre rating, not sure how to correlate ** with price value vs ***** .....

May be Z tries to buy Starbuck after selling off AR.....

In Grand Haven, Michigan we have quite a few local coffee shops  - Jumpin Java, Coffee Grounds, even Biggby Coffee, a local Michigan chain. Many folks in Grand Haven value local businesses over large chains so I wouldn't forsee the value of homes dipping on account of Starbucks leaving.

Nothing at all.

The addicts would drive a few minutes more to the next 'Bucks' or Panera or DD or McD's or Perkins or JavaJoe's or Seattle Coffee.....

I will admit, when showing homes to out of area buyers, they do ask, "Where is the nearest Starbucks?"  When you squeeze, what they are really asking is 'Can a walk to a coffee shop?"  STARBUCKs is becoming legend.

Good morning Jack. Since I don't drink coffee, not much for me, but would miss my hot chocolate at Dunkin Donut.

Unfortunately, Dunkin would probably take over the space. Actually, come to think of it, a local Starbucks actually did close down and a Peets Coffee moved in.

We don't have a Starbucks in the  neighborhood but there are 3 in town. If one went out of business the others would pick up the slack or one of the other coffee shops or Panera would fill the gap.

I'm not so sure that Starbucks drives that vs Starbucks searches for better neighborhoods.  Regardless, if they went out of business, another higher end coffee shop would fill it's place.

We have another high end coffee place that is in 4 or 5 of our upscale towns.

As there is no Starbucks that is walkable from where I am I will say nothing. But in those areas where there is one I like to think that the market will correct itself and ther coffee shops will pick up the slack and nothing will change. It's a non-factor usually.

Not sure, a bunch of angry people??  We have a great coffee shop here on the Island called Island Joe's.  I think we would be fine - the town is small enough.  I guess I am saying we would adapt - just like we did when we lost Krispy Creme Donuts :(

I am sure that I not alone in this but I am certainly in the minority.  My first Starbuck's experience almost two decades ago was an unplanned stop at a rest area.  I was tired and needed a pick me up.  My first reaction YUCK! However, it certainly woke me up.  I guess my palate was ruined by all of those years of Dunkin' Donuts. Up until 5 years ago I had never even tried a flavored coffee. I have returned to Starbucks about 3 times in the last two decades.  So, to make a long answer even longer.......My neighborhood would survive if Starbucks went out of business.

My neighborhood did very well for years without any Starbucks, so I'm sure it would survive if Starbucks disappeared. There's always something/someone who will fill the vacuum (maybe even better than Starbucks).
