I would show them where to go find the answers and if near a computer do it for them right then.

It is a question, I'd rather not answer. In local schools kids are divided according to their entry test results. So, public schools have classes for accelerated kids and classes for kids who go slower.  I'd suggest them to do detailed research according to their needs( public, private, religious school). Fortunately, you can find so much information online, including forums for parents.

Bob - I guess it depends on the questions they are asking. I don't mind answering basic questions, but if they are looking for an opinion of a school, I will direct them to another source. I would have to agree with Sharon Altier, SFR on this one. I was always taught to be the source of the source, but do not be the source.

Vague school answers as boundries are continually changing.  They're on their own.

I usually will refer them to online links that give them the information.  I would prefer they get an unbiased opinion online and do that research; no different than crime stats.  What some people consider a good school can be looked poorly upon by another or exalted; different values.

I answer if I have the details; otherwise I give them a contact knowledgeable about those schools.

I will speak of the education system here. I will also, speak of where I sent my children and the cost. 

No. We refer them to the appropriate website for current information on the schools. 

I have no problem to elaborate on our Local Schools and to answer any questions that my area has to offer.

Only if I actually know the answer. Otherwise, i send them to county website to review school info.

I don't have first hand information about the schools.  I recommend they

 contact the school district and school board for information.

Hi Bob -- I cite the source of information and tell them where they can find additional information.  

I usually send them the school website link and let them review.  I always tell them it is a good idea to stop by the school.
