Yes this called reverse prospecting. Our MLS requests permission from buyer agents to allow listing agents to search for buyers who may be looking at one of their listings. Usually the seller agent will send an email saying " i noticed you have a buyer who showed interest in my listing etc" . Its a good marketing tool for seller agents to stimulate interest in their properties and get more showings, feedback and offers

Our mls software is Matrix, and it does have reverse prospecting capability.

No ours does not. That would be an interesting feature to have. I would rather know how many of the public query it

Renee - Our MLS does have the capability to, what they call, 'reverse prospect'. However, you have to have a listing, and the results are based on other agents searching properties similar to your listing. I have captured that data and sent emails to those agents regarding my listing. Not sure how productive it is or not, or how accurate the data is, but thought it was worth a shot at getting my listing sold.

No, sounds silly to me. I could care less what other agents do in my market I just want them to bring me a buyer.

Yes (reverse prospecting), but because they searched does not mean it peaked their interest.

Knowing what the Buyer is looking for will certainly speed up what property location and criteria I'll be listing. Saves gas and doubles the income too! Alas, we don't have it YET!
